Kids & Family Programs

Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm beginning January 28th

Come join kids programmer Karen for a free-choice weekly craft meet-up! Learn new skills or practice the ones you already have in a fun, low-pressure environment. To start off this new program offering, we’ll focus on textiles. We’ll have crochet and knitting needles, some embroidery supplies, and tapestry weaving kits for use. This program is for all ages.

Saturday, January 17th, 1-2:30pm

Hygge is the Danish concept of coziness, and it’s all about well-being and comfort. Come hang out in Starr Library’s Teen Corner, where we’ll be making beaded flower or knotted friendship bracelets! There will be popcorn and hot chocolate, couches, bean bag chairs, and a chill vibe to keep you warm during the cold winter months. This event is for patrons ages 10-15.

Tuesdays at 10:15am

Robbie’s beloved story time brings together an animated, fun, and engaging reading style with literacy-focused activities, including fingerplays and crafts. Great for ages 2-6.

Mondays, January 5th & 26th, 10:30-11:30am

Join Jane Korn and other parents, caregivers, and children (ages 3 mo-4 yrs) for a child play group at the library downstairs in our community room! This is an opportunity for parents to connect and share ideas while their young ones interact, play and grow. Registration is required each week through our online calendar.

Saturday, January 31st, 11-11:45am

Let’s get cozy and read aloud about the winter season! Join kids programmer Karen for a storytime filled with reading, song, and a colorful lantern craft. Please bring a clean glass jar we can recycle into a lantern! This storytime event is open to all ages. Please register each child separately so we can prepare enough supplies for everyone.
