Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm

Come join kids programmer Karen for a free-choice weekly craft meet-up! Learn new skills or practice the ones you already have in a fun, low-pressure environment. To start off this new program offering, we’ll focus on textiles. We’ll have crochet and knitting needles, some embroidery supplies, and tapestry weaving kits for use. This program is for all ages.

After a successful season with our own Robotics Team, Wednesday night Lego Robotics Club is now open to all ages and abilities! Please come ready to learn the basics about Lego Spike programming and have fun with open play using the library’s robotics kits. This program is for kids and teens, ages 8 and up!

Looking forward to spring? Holi, the bright and joyful Hindu Festival of Color, is a holiday that anyone can celebrate! Symbolizing the end of winter and the triumph of color and light over darkness, we’ll get messy with fingerpaints, splattered art, and other fun, vibrant activities. Open to all!

Sunday, March 8th, 1:30-3pm

Hygge is the Danish concept of coziness, and it’s all about well-being and comfort. Come hang out in the comfy Starr Library Teen Corner where we’ll be learning how to make beaded flower or knotted friendship bracelets with programmer Karen! There will be popcorn and hot chocolate, couches, bean bag chairs, and a chill vibe to keep you warm during the last days of this long winter. This event is for patrons ages 10-15.

Monday, March 9th, 3:30-5pm

Kids Cooking Club is back, just in time to celebrate the Persian spring celebration of Nowruz! We’ll be making allergen free snacks that fill our senses with delicious spring color and flavors, making vibrant shirazi salad, sweet stuffed dates, and scrumptious dolmas. This program is for kids 6-12.

Saturday, March 21st, 11-11:45am

Vamos a leer! (Let’s read!) Join Miss Ami as we explore some of the bilingual Spanish/English books in our library collection. Come ready to learn a few new words or hear a book in a language you already know! We’ll also have a craft activity, so come ready to have some divertido! (fun!) Open to all!

Saturday, March 21st, 1-2:30pm

After this very long winter, we’re ready to get some green back into our lives! Let’s celebrate the Spring Equinox by painting a clay planter for our home. We’ll have some soil, and baby plants to plant, too, so get ready to get your hands a little dirty! Celebrate the coming season as the sun shines a little more each day! This program is for kids 5 and up.

Saturday, March 28th, 11-11:45am

Join kids’ programmer Karen for another morning of books from our Starr collection! We’re welcoming the spring season, telling stories of growing things and new beginnings, and we’re making a popsicle stick bird feeder to welcome our feathered friends back after a long winter. Open to all!
