Mission Statement

Starr Library provides access to the highest quality library services and programming, enriching our lives and building community.

Thomas Thompson / Sally Mazzarella Park

Behind Starr Library is the Rhinebeck Town Park and the Thomas Thompson/Sally Mazzarella Park. Including almost 72 acres of land, and 2.2 miles of trails, the park is a keystone of Rhinebeck recreation. It is owned jointly by the Town and Village of Rhinebeck. Park amenities include the pool, tennis courts, a baseball field, basketball courts, playground and the Community Garden. Thompson/Mazzarella Park offers year-round activities for all. There are plenty of parking spaces and picnic spots. The main entrance to the park is at Traver Lane, just west of the Village of Rhinebeck, near the Starr Library on West Market Street.

Bike Repair Center and Electric Car Charging Station

On the premises, we have both a multi-tool bike repair center / bike rack, as well as an electric car charging station with two charging ports. The bike rack and repair center can be found at the front of the building near the main entrance, and the car charging port can be found around the back of the building, near the rear parking area and entrance to the lower level of the library. Both the repair center and the charging port are free of charge and can be used by community members.
