Saturday, March 28th, 11-11:45am

Join kids’ programmer Karen for another morning of books from our Starr collection! We’re welcoming the spring season, telling stories of growing things and new beginnings, and we’re making a popsicle stick bird feeder to welcome our feathered friends back after a long winter. Open to all!

Monday, April 6th, 3:30-5pm

Use your creative skills to tell a story in a shadow box we can display in the library! Register by April 3rd, pick one of your favorite children’s books, and we’ll prepare some materials for you to get your artistic juices flowing. With maker’s permission, shadow boxes will be displayed in the children’s department and can be collected in the weeks following. Let’s inspire reading by making something beautiful! This event is for kids ages 6-12!

Sunday, April 12th 1:30-3pm

Decorative cane beads were invented over 500 years ago, and it’s an artform that still exists in the modern world! Using polymer clay, we’ll be making our own beginner cane designs that you can string as a bracelet or trade with your friends. Canes are long tubes of a design that can be sliced into multiple identical beads. This event is for participants ages 10-15.

Tuesday, April 14th,  6-7pm

This program is designed to guide families through the key components of the college admissions process. Especially for juniors (Class of 2027) and their parents, this session offers clear, practical insight into: building a thoughtful and balanced college list, navigating the Common Application, understanding supplemental essays, requesting teacher recommendations, presenting extracurricular activities effectively, SAT/ACT testing considerations, what colleges consider when evaluating applicants, and more.

Monday, April 20th 3:30-4:30pm

Have you ever wanted to sew on your own button or fix a holey sock? How about making a simple doll or puppet? Hand sewing is a great skill to start early, and the creative possibilities are endless! Participants will learn how to make a fabric finger puppet or small stuffed animal as a beginner craft. This event is for kids ages 6-12.

Saturday, April 25th 11-11:45am

As our area gets greener and the flowers start to show their colors, we’re celebrating plants while reading books from our collection that tell their stories. Join us for storytime followed by a paper flower craft to make your own everlasting bouquet. All ages!
