Friday, May 30 at 4pm

We’re excited to welcome certified therapy dog Mira back to our library! Stressed out during the last month of school? Time to touch some grass and pet a dog.  Drop in anytime betwee 4-5pm to meet this very good girl. Mira is a member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) and has extensive experience with a range of ages and individuals of all abilities.

Saturday, May 31 at 1pm

Join author/illustrator Kayla Miller to get a behind the scenes look at how graphic novels are made… and create your own one page comic story! Participants will learn techniques and practice skills for creating characters, generating ideas, writing scripts, and laying out comic panels. This workshop is geared toward elementary aged kids from 7-12 years old.

Second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 11:15am and 12pm

Back-to-back sessions! Licensed music therapist Terry Watson delights with songs, chants, puppetry, instruments, storytelling and movement/dance with a focus on child development and early literacy. Sessions are geared toward children 0-4 years old with their caregivers or parents. Parents with slightly older children are welcome, too. 

Fridays at 10am

An informal meet-up in the playroom upstairs in the children’s wing for parents and caregivers of children 0-3 years old. Come play with new friends and hang with other local parents navigating early childhood. 

Tuesdays at 4pm

Do you want to join our brand new Lego Robotics Team, Starr Chimps? This group for ages 10+ will be meeting weekly downstairs while analog Lego Hour takes place upstairs to work toward programming robots for a Lego Robotics convention in June. Web developer Patrick Reid and a group of Rhinebeck parents lead the group. Ideal team size is 2-4 kids, can accommodate up to 6 teams.

Super Lego Hour

Tuesdays at 4pm

This self-directed group meets every Tuesday.
