Join kids programmer Karen as we re-plant our kids container garden in the front of Starr Library! We’ll have a selection of flowers and vegetables to install, and we’ll make colorful labels to teach everyone what we planted. Meet in the community room to begin. This event is all ages.
Saturday, June 27th 11am-12noon
Join kids programmer Karen as we read books from our collection that celebrate the Summer! We’ll make simple tissue paper suncatchers after reading and singing together. All ages welcome!
Monday, July 6th, 3pm & 4pm (Two slots, please register!)
Hooray! Summer Reading starts today, with a paleontology-themed season ahead full of reading, craft, exploration, and celebration! We’re starting things off with a printing workshop with local artist Jef Scharf and his mobile silk screening machine. We’ll have totebags for participants and some extra t-shirts for sale, but feel free to also bring your printable items from home. This event is all ages!
Friday, July 10th 3:30-5pm
Consider yourself invited to the tastiest party in town, an allergen-free dinosaur cookie decorating party! We’ll have pre-baked dino-shaped sugar cookies ready to personalize, and some fun dinosaur trivia and jokes to shares while we work. This event is ALL AGES, but adults may need to assist attendees under 6 yrs old.
Monday, July 20th 3:30-5pm
Unlock the magic of light and shadow with Paper Heart Puppets! Students explore the world of shadow puppetry with dinosaurs and learn how to design and build their own dynamic palentological shadow puppet characters. Then they’ll practice their shadow performance skills to make their characters come to life! This event is for kids 5 and up.
Mondays, June 1st, 8th, and 15th at 10:30am
Join Jane Korn and other parents, caregivers, and children (ages 3 mo-4 yrs) for a child play group at the library downstairs in our community room! This is an opportunity for parents to connect and share ideas while their young ones interact, play and grow. Registration is required each week through our online calendar.
Storytime with Robbie!
Tuesdays at 10:15am
Robbie’s beloved story time brings together an animated, fun, and engaging reading style with literacy-focused activities, including fingerplays and crafts. Great for ages 2-6.
Super Lego Hour
Tuesdays at 4pm
This self-directed group meets every Tuesday.
NOW WEEKLY on Wednesdays at 10:30am
Licensed music therapist Terry Watson delights with songs, chants, puppetry, instruments, storytelling and movement/dance with a focus on child development and early literacy. Sessions are geared toward children 0-4 years old with their caregivers or parents. Parents with slightly older children are welcome, too.
Fridays at 10am
An informal meet-up in the playroom upstairs in the children’s wing for parents and caregivers of children 0-3 years old. Come play with new friends and hang with other local parents navigating early childhood.
